Review: Avon Satin Glow Lotion

Skin So Soft
Satin Glow Body Lotion

So you know that as much as I hate to admit it, I like Avon products. Avon speed dry nail polish comes in so many colors, and actually is quick at drying,  which makes it one of my favorite nail polish brands.  They also have really great perfumes (especially when you consider the price) like Avon Sweet Honesty   so when I was looking through their catalog and saw that they had a sun tanning lotion I figured I’d give it a try, even though I’m pretty fond of Jergens Natural Glow Express.

I was actually expecting that this body lotion would give me a “tan”, but after using it (and further inspection of the bottle) I realized that’s not what its supposed to do. It has an SPF 15 which is fantastic, because skin cancer is terrible. Instead of darkening the skin, its supposed to give a “healthy glow” by giving a little bit of shimmer and enhancing your natural skin color. As well as moisturizing your skin.

When I first realized this, I was a little disappointed, I wanted something to make me dark. After three days though, when I started to see results, I liked it though. When you look at your skin in certain lighting it actually has a little bit of sparkle (not like you dumped glitter on yourself) which is really nice. And I did notice a little difference in my skin tone, just nothing drastic. Which might be good, because with a self tanner if you miss a spot, it looks terrible (not to mention the stains you get on your hands and clothes), and I don’t think that’d be a problem with this Skin so Soft product. It does a fairly good job of moisturizing my skin too.

Avon’s Skin So Soft Satin Glow Ultimate Body Moisturizing Lotion does have one bad point though… It smells awful. Just like so many other tanning lotions. I think you should only use this if you aren’t going to be going somewhere for the next few hours because it is STRONG. If you are look for a lotion that smells good I’d recommend checking out my Eos Hand Lotion Review  for hands or my Eos Active Care Lotion Review for all over lotion.
