Mascara is one of the only products that I wear everyday, so back when I got the Von Maur Beauty Gift Set I was excited that it included a mascara sample. I know I said that I would do a review about it months ago, but better late than never, right?
Although I have light blond hair I like to go with a dark mascara and Noir Midnight is that. Its a straight black color with no shine or sheen of any thing else. It is a little bit more expensive than some of the other mascaras I’ve used, but it really does do a great job. I don’t have any problems with the length of time it lasts and removal is easy with the makeup remover I use. In the past I’ve used a few different mascaras that I’m sure reduced the the number of eyelashes I have but even though I’ve be using Lancome Noir Midnight Mascara for the past month and a half I’ve yet to notice a problem.
The packaging is just the average black bottle, simple and clean looking. I like that it has the color name listed on it, because on a few days I do wear a brown color with similar packaging and this way I don’t have to open it up to see the color. There is one bad thing about the packaging that you might be able to notice in the picture, it has a slight gap between the lid and the body when closed. The first time I noticed this I had a little panic because I thought that I hadn’t shut it all the way and that my mascara would be dried out, but luckily that wasn’t the case.
I decided to add a picture of the mascara brush to my review because when ever I’m looking for a new mascara the brush is almost as important as the formula. For me this mascara is fantastic for my top eyelashes, one of the best I’ve tried. On my bottom lashes it is a little bit too thick though and if I’m not careful about how I apply it, it ends up making me look like I have false eyelashes on. Though that might be something a lot of users would want so maybe it isn’t such a bad thing.
