How to Wear a Denim Dress

Jean Dress Outfit

I’ve always loved jeans, so when I saw this denim dress trend, I had to make an outfit featuring the a dress like this. Although I wouldn’t do this as a normal summer dress outfit I think that a jean dress is a great addition to any summer wardrobe. Its durable, easy to clean and very comfortable. A denim outfit can come across kind of country, and not in the cowboy boot outfit way but more of a 1950’s backwoods kind of way. With proper styling though a jean dress can come across as elegant, and modern. Because I wanted this to be a more casual outfit I didn’t add any fancy shoes or accessories which would have given the whole outfit clashing statements.

  • Button Cardigan, John Lewis – $36 I really do like a good cardigan. They work well with so many things. Depending on the outfit they can either dress it up or dress it down. I’ve heard of people saying that cardigans aren’t attractive, but really the only way I can see that is if its buttoned up all the way. I always leave mine open and the sleeves pushed up.
  • Denim Dress, Marc Jacobs – $302 Of course since I’m a big fan of Marc Jacobs I had to use his dress for my main outfit piece. At first I thought that this dress would be too heavy, but its actually made of a very light jean fabric. I love the pleats and the yellow dots add a unique feature to the dress.
  • Ballerina Shoes, question air – $150 Normally I love doing outfits with high heels like my classy mini skirt guide but for this denim dress outfit how to a flat shoe works so much better. A denim dress is meant to be worn out in the sun playing in the yard, something that isn’t so easy with pumps. The red color matches the cardigan and is a nice contrast to the blue jean fabric.
