Review: Honey I’m Strong Conditioner

Honey I'm strong conditioner

Lately it seems like I’ve been using a lot of conditioners for my hair. Between swimming, bleaching my own hair, washing it too much, and using my flat iron,  my hair takes on a lot of damage. When I say a lot, I really mean it. I’ve had a huge problem with the ends of my hair breaking off, meaning that my hair won’t grow past my shoulders. Instead of getting hair extensions to solve the problem, I decided to try a Herbal Essences Honey I’m Strong Strengthening Conditioner to revitalize my hair because I don’t just want to cover up the problem.

Made with Honey Extract this Herbal Essences conditioner is supposed to make my hair 10x stronger after one wash. I’m not sure about those numbers but I can say that after a week of use, my hair does feel a lot nicer. Why the honey though? Back in ancient times honey and milk were used in ancient beauty rituals, so I guess you can say this is getting back to the basics.

So how does it work? Like most conditioners just work it into hair after shampooing and then rinse it out. I found that after doing this my hair felt smooth and I was able to run a comb through it. Something that really isn’t easy with curly hair. It also rinsed out well without leaving any weird residues.

I was expecting a smell similar to the Perlier Honey Meil and I was right. Which is great because they both smell fantastic. Its not exactly a honey smell, because it also has some sort of citrus smell mixed into it. Its not something that’s going to last all day, maybe just a few hours at most but in the shower you’ll smell it for sure.

Overall I really like this conditioner. It actually makes my hair feel nicer, even if the claims on the bottle do seem a little overdone. It smells nice too, a trait a lot of Herbal Essences products have. The only thing I don’t like is the yellow color! For a platinum blonde like my I’m afraid it’ll cancel out my purple shampoo I use.
