I’ve talked to you guys before about how a vegetarian (or even better vegan) diet can be really beneficial to weight loss, even sharing my recipe for vegan cheddar cheese broccoli soup with you guys on a previous fitness friday. Since then I’ve been lucky enough to learn a whole lot about nutrition through a certification class I’m taking this summer, and of course through trial and error with my exercise and dieting so I wanted to share a few recent discoveries of mine. These have all worked out fantastically for me, both in the weight loss category and in the healthy living (better skin, more energy kind of things) category.
First up, this is probably my favorite, the LeanPops Silicone Popsicle Molds I reviewed. Being as terrible as I am about snacking it’s great that I can just put either kool-aid or if I’m being really healthy a natural fruit juice in these molds, put them in the freezer and a few hours later have the perfect snack. As you can see by the above picture I even found the perfect way to store them in my freezer.
I talked about this in my review of the eSutras Organics Golden Flax Seeds but I’ve really been looking for a way to get Omega-3 fatty acids. I don’t eat fish, and as much as I like walnuts they’re extremely high in calories. I’m so happy that I found out about these flax seeds because they are the perfect solution. Just add them to your cereal or a homemade bread and you’ve got all the Omega-3 you need.
