Book Review: The Last Ride

The Last Ride
An Andrea Carter Book
By Susan K. Marlow

Andrea Carter is turning sweet sixteen and life could not be better. School’s almost over for good, and there will be plenty of time to train the colt of her treasured horse, Taffy. Best of all, big brother Chad is giving Andi more responsibilities on the ranch. Her first job is to teach city-slicker cousin Daniel how things work on the Circle C. There’s just one big problem: Daniel wants nothing to do with ranch life. Charming one minute and outrageously rude the next, he ignores common sense, defies authority, and proves to be a danger to everyone, including himself. When Andi stumbles onto a horrifying secret about Daniel, he warns her to stay silent or face the deadly consequences. But all bets are off when Daniel’s actions set off a chain of events that leave Andi broken hearted and bitter. Can anyone break through the wall around Andi’s heart and help her find healing?

Sysan K. Marlw is always on the lookout for a new story, whether she’s writing books, teaching writing workshops, or sharing what she’s learned as a homeschooling mom. The author of the Circle C Adventures and the Circle C Begininings, Susan enjoys relaxing on her fourteen-acre homestead in the great state of Washington. Connect with Susan at

I’ve previously read four of Susan K. Marlow’s books. River in Peril, Thick as Thieves , Andrea Carter’s Tales from the Circle C Ranch and Canyon in Danger all of which I liked; So as you can imagine I had high hopes for The Last ride, and it didn’t let me down. The story is great and of course Andrea Carter is a wonderful character to follow. This is the perfect teen book to read, either in patches or all at once like I like to do. You won’t be disappointed with this read, which I was quite happy to get the chance to review.
