Lollapalooza, What to Take + What to Wear

Summer is in full swing, and the weather has been fantastic. So I’m sure like a lot of people you’re heading out to do all kinds of activities specifically for summer. I can think of a ton of things that I’ve done this summer or have on my list to do before the warm weather turns cold. One of those, not just for me but a lot of us I think is going to a music festival. After seeing so many different things about it on social media (especially instagram) I’ve been especially excited about Lollapalooza in Chicago. So I wanted to share a few outfit selections (especially for the cooler summer) and offer a few tips.

What to Wear

#1 Even if the sky says overcast be sure to wear sunscreen. Even if you’re not the type of person who’s skin burns, it can (and will) get sun damage. It’s always better to play it safe than sorry.

#2 Wear Something comfortable. I’ve seen a lot of people wear a lot of odd outfits, that I’d personally never wear. But if they’re comparable in it, more power to them. I try to make a balance between dressing modestly (from my own perspective) and dressing for the summer weather.

#3 Budget Wisely. After getting your tickets for transportation (bus, plane etc.), and your hotel see how much money you have, and consider getting a wristband at the festival that’ll give you a lot less hassle. And it’ll give you a little peace of mind about losing your money.

#4 Comfortable shoes are of course a must. While you may want to go with the cutest pair you own, I can tell you from personal experience this isn’t the best option. They’ll not only be bad for your feet (I’ve gotten a few blisters this way) but you don’t want to ruin shoes that you really like.

 What to Pack

#1 Sunglasses/Sunscreen – As I mentioned in my “What to Wear” section it’s super important to protect yourself from the sun. Wearing sunscreen and sunglasses is easy to do and will make you a lot more comfortable.

#2 Hand sanitizer – I’m not particularly wary of germs, but music festivals are one of those exceptions. To keep my hands clean I always carry around a mini bottle of hand sanitizer at any outdoor event.

#3 Cottonelle® with CleanRipple® Texture – Alright this might be a weird one but it’s a necessity. Carrying around toilet paper / and or cleansing cloths at a festival can make your life a whole lot easier. Restrooms are often hard to find, and when you do… chances are it’s just a temporary one that’s almost too gross to use, and there’s about a 90% you’re going to wish you hadn’t gone at all if you don’t bring something along.

Cottonelle® with CleanRipple® Texture is designed to clean better, so you’re clean & confident enough to go commando, so you won’t have to worry about it anymore. But what exactly is this CleanRipple® Texture? It’s  is a proprietary innovation on all Cottonelle® toilet paper and flushable cleansing cloths that is designed to clean better (than the leading national value brand). And I can tell you it works too. I was lucky enough to get to try out both the toilet paper, and wipes, and they’re now my go to not only for emergencies at festivals but at home too.

So have fun at Lollapalooza (and any other music festivals) and be sure to remember your bum. And! Enter to win an all expenses paid trip to Wanderlust 108 Festival in Miami (October 22) And check out the Cottonelle® site.
