St. Patrick’s Day Outfit + Makeup Inspiration

*Giveaway at Bottom of Post

March 17 is the day of the death of St. Patrick the patron saint of Ireland. Of course in for hundreds of years this day has been marked with a feast, but now, especially in the United States it’s better known as St. Party’s Day, and since this year March 17 falls on a Friday this is even more true. In celebration of the upcoming day, I wanted to share a little bit of outfit inspiration. While the day is about having a good time, I did keep it pretty conservative, as well as being super comfortable.

Dress- Okay I really wanted the main piece of this outfit to be green, but while searching I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find a dress. Almost every green dress seemed to either be extremely ill fitting, or a bridesmaid dress until I came upon this piece. It’s a simple shift dress with a cute key hole back.

Clutch – Although it isn’t technically related whenever I think of St. Patrick’s day I think of leprechauns, and of course the gold that they hide. Adding in this clutch is the perfect way to show a little something inspired by that gold.

Tights – While tights may not be necessary for you, looking at the weather where I am, it’s still going to be pretty cold. Plus having something to make your legs look a little longer and slimmer isn’t bad.

Shoes – Of course I love heels, but for a day of being on your feet they really aren’t the best idea. To match the tights I went with a pair of minimalist black

In addition to sharing some outfit inspiration I thought it might be fun to share a few makeup suggestions to go with it. While there are more than four things that you’ll probably be wearing beauty wise these are then four big ones that I think will help “complete the look”.

Eyeshadow – I’ve seen a lot of girls go for the green eyeshadow look, and I can say that it never works out well, and gets even worse as the night goes on. So instead I went with a more neutral palette focusing heavily on the yellow hues.

Highlighter – All over instagram and youtube it seems like beauty gurus can’t get enough of highlighters, and I’ve been seeing the trend start to show up in real life. For the whimsical feel I added in this rainbow highlight I’ve been obsessed with.

Lipstick – While I love light shades up lipstick, while the weather is still cold, they look a little odd. So I went with a dark red that’ll go well with the eyeshadow.

Nail Polish – Because you need a little green in your beauty routine for St. Patricks Day I added in this light green nail polish.

We didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. We had dinner at our usual restaurant for Friday night, but I guess there was a little green involved because it is a sushi place and we both really like wasabi! We came home and I had a cider and my husband had a beer, but we didn’t even add green food coloring to get in the spirit. Normally we at least go out for a green beer, but we just weren’t in the mood this year.

I worked on St Patrick’s Day, but that included a nice work dinner get together, of course I wore green.

I really enjoy the combo of chocolate and mint so I love all the minty chocolatey treats that come out this time of year.

We don’t really do anything besides wear green and pinch people. lol.

We don’t do much for St. Patrick’s day, this year I did a themed manicure.

We went out for Corned Beef & Cabbage, soda bread and Guinness with a “drunken brownie” (soaked in Baileys) for dessert.

  8. I wore green and fixed corned beef & cabbage in the crockpot.

We usually have some cabbage and corn beef, but this year two of us were down with the stomach virus/flu so we didn’t do much at all unfortunately

I watched the parade on TV here in KC. Then I fixed cabbage and corned beef.
