Hello Kitty x ColourPop Hello Pretty Kit

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review of any kind, especially a makeup review but I wanted to share one today. I’ve actually been getting quite a few different beauty related products, so I’m hoping to put up full review of them here along with the mini reviews I do of the products on Instagram.

But lets talk about this Hello Kitty x ColourPop Hello Pretty Kit! I originally requested it simply because it is a Hello Kitty collaboration but when it arrived I was even more impressed with the contents. The box is a pretty Hello Kitty design with a red bow and blue background. It actually has a magnetic closure which I thought was really nice for the ColourPop price point. Included in the Hello Pretty kit were three eyeshadows, two lip products and two face products.

On the left is the Fun with Friends Blush. I thought it was going to be a little dark for me, but it ended up being gorgeous mid level shade of pink with warm tones.

Next to the blush is the Yummy Cookies Highlighter. It has warm tones and a bit of a pink coloring applied to the skin. I personally think it looks best on medium skin tones and applied was impressed with wear time.

On to the lip products to the left is the Ribbon Ultra Matte Lip – This is a rich cool red that’s perfect if you love red lips. I think it’s comparable to a Kylie Jenner lip kit both for color and wear time. If you’re into matte lips this is your piece.

The KT Ultra Glossy Lip is a gold/brown sheer lip gloss with pink and gold glitter in it. It’s perfect for darker skin tones especially as a top for brown lip colors or to soften a pink.

Last but not least are the eyeshadows. From the left is the Bento Box Shadow, which is perfect for a smokey eye. It has a pearlized finish and gunmetal color. The only thing I don’t like is that it really settles into creases with wear.

Juicy Apple Shadow in the middle has a bit of a misleading name. Instead of being pink or red it’s a shimmery gold with a satin finish and cool undertones. To be honest I think it looks beautiful as a highlighter as much as a shadow.

On the far right is the Sticker Sheet Shadow. It’s a taupe color that’s nice to have, and wear time is good. Overall I’d say it’s a basic brown that everyone should have in their makeup collection, but it isn’t anything exciting.

Verdict: The Hello Kitty x ColourPop Hello Pretty Kit retails for $42, which is very reasonable for what’s included especially since it competes well with higher end makeup. Not only is it a cute Hello Kitty collaboration packaging but each of the products stand nicely on their own. While some of the items color wise didn’t work for me, quality wise (especially when considering the price) are all great.
