Summer Style Modest Outfit + Makeup

So far my summer hasn’t gone exactly according to plan I have gotten some things done that I originally had wanted to do, so it isn’t all bad. One thing that hasn’t been getting done seems to be blog posts but here I am! Because the last outfit guide I did for summer (called Cool (+Modest) Summer Outfit and Makeup Inspiration ) was so popular I thought it might be fun to continue that and share more outfit and makeup inspiration for summer with a modest twist. So first up is the outfit. While it has been a little hot for an outfit like this I tried to make an outfit that could at least stand some of the heat even if it’s completely covered. More importantly though I was looking for styles and trends that are hot this summer that are doable for a more conservative look. Tank – Pineapple anything is so in this year that of course I needed to add a printed tank to this outfit. I was pretty lucky to find a …

Floral + Lace Dress With Denim, Outfit

While lately I’ve been doing more outfit posts this one is a bit of a throwback. The photos were taken back on Palm Sunday for Instagram, and I promptly edited them and sent one off to the company that sent me the dress I’m wearing. However the company took forever to get back to me for the Instagram post so the photos just kind of sat around. Well yesterday the photo was finally approved so I figured I could share a few of my favorites here Dress – I love this dress even if it is a little more beach wear than street wear I found it easy to pair and make into more of my style. The lace top is gorgeous and it has straps in the back that can be worn multiple ways. What I really love is the loose flowing skirt. Jacket – For this outfit while I really liked the dress I did think it was a little revealing for me, so I decided to pair it with a denim jacket …

Cool (+Modest) Summer Outfit and Makeup Inspiration

As you know I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from what I see on the street as well as some of what I see on Instagram and celebrities (minus the Met Gala this year) but a lot of times these trends aren’t exactly modest, or practical for a normal life. So I decided to wrap together a few and create a cool summer look that combines some popular trends and makes it into a modest wearable look. Top – I’m not sure if you got it (probably not) but I tried to make a pun calling this a cool summer outfit because this is a cold shoulder top. The last off the shoulder piece I shared in an outfit post (Gingham Dress, 2 Ways Gothic + Girly ) was popular, so I thought I could branch out a little and go with an asymmetrical one. I love the ruffles and  buttons that give it a feminine look in addition to being unique. *For an even more modest look you can wear a white turtle …

Outfit: On Cincinnati Bridges

Now that I have a little break from school, I’ve got a bit of free time. Not as much as I’d like because of some testing I have to do this summer and a few other things I didn’t expect to come up, but I can have a little bit of time to do something fun. One of those things was going with my friend to Cincinnati. We’d originally went because of a few bird supply stores, and breeders in the area we wanted to check out, but even though I’d found what I needed the week before we decided to go anyways. Our trip started with a trip to Ikea (I bought baby cactuses), Jungle Jim’s Grocery (which isn’t worth the hype if you aren’t into alcohol), and then lunch at a Mediterranean restaurant. By that time we were really hungry and over ordered but the food was actually fantastic. From there we went to downtown Cincinnati. My friend had originally found parking close to a park we wanted to take pictures in but …

Why I’m all in on Turbans

*Giveaway at bottom of post  Since the 1930’s scarves on top of heads haven’t really been a thing (except for a short lived 1970’s trend), unless you’re orthodox Christian, or Muslim. However I’ve been noticing a slow change in this to more women embracing wearing a variety of head coverings and let me tell you I’m loving it. While it has been associated strongly with the more modest wear, not that it is a bad thing, that isn’t always the case. What is almost always the case is the feminine and glamours look all of the different styles look, on a variety of women. While I appreciate a variety of the head scarf styles I’ve just over the moon with one particular option, the turban. Little did I know when I first started admiring them that while they did originate in the Middle East (Persia)  they have been worn all over Europe in various degrees of popularity for over a thousand years. Looking through some old family albums there is actually a few photos of …

Spring Date Night Outfit + Makeup Inspiration

*Giveaway at bottom of post* I’m pretty sure the first day of spring was quite awhile ago but with such a busy semester I’ve barely had time to look up. However all of that is going to be changing very soon, because finals are this week, and then I’ll be done. Instead of completely disappearing until all of those are over though I wanted to share some Spring date Night outfit and Makeup inspiration. Dress – Starting with the dress, which is very similar to one I own. I love the structured design (super flattering) on the top and then the looser skirt. The cut out in the chest and sweetheart neckline flow together really well. This was originally a prom dress but I think works really well as an evening dress. Bag – Clutches are my go to as far bags because I can’t stand carrying heavy purses. The envelope design has been around for awhile and is a great no frills option. Of course I went with the blush color. Shoes – These …

Outfit: Ruffled + Striped with Jeans

This semester has been crazy, but luckily it’s almost over. I still have no idea what I’m doing. I’m completely unsure of what I want to do when I get out which might be even more stressful than my classes. Regardless of what I do I’m going to have a little bit of a break which is for sure needed. Until the end of the semester I can’t guarantee regular posts but I do have one to share today. So here it is my #ootd. I wasn’t originally going to share it but after wearing it and getting a ton of compliments on the shirt I though I could take a few outfit photos. Shirt – I actually got this blouse off of amazon, and when I saw it I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but as soon as I put it on I loved it. Not only does it have a lot of fun details but it’s super comfortable and modest. Jeans – Like a lot of my outfits I went with …

Cherry Blossom Inspired Outfit

*GIVEAWAY at bottom of post. It’s officially cherry blossom season which I’m sure you’ve seen if you have any type of social media. I’ve personally been bombarded by the photos, but that isn’t a bad thing. From this I wanted to put together a cherry blossom inspired outfit. The look is an everyday casual but still feminine look with a few trends that are in right now. Shirt – This beautiful blouse was actually what I centered this whole outfit around I love the cropped length and the lace details are so much fun. The bowed front and trending sleeves are really what make it perfect for the Cherry Blossom inspiration, along with the pretty color of course. Jeans – Whenever I wear a crop top I’m always sure to pair it with a high waisted pair of pants. I’m loving the looser fit on this pair and the cuffed hems which make it perfect for wearing with a variety of shoes. While I’m normally not into light pairs of jeans, for this look with …

Gingham Dress, 2 Ways Gothic + Girly

Normally when I’ve done outfit inspiration posts I put together one complete outfit based on a certain activity or trend and then pair it with a few makeup products that complete the look. Today however I thought I’d try something a little different with this outfit guide and share one trend that’s really in, the gingham dress and show it done two different ways. To make it even a little more challenging I decided to go with the same cold shoulder (remember when I shared an off the shoulder outfit inspiration) gingham dress for both the gothic and girly outfits. The first look I’m going with is the “girly” one. While it isn’t over the top feminine I wasn’t exactly sure how else to label it, because words like “basic” and “mainstream” have a lot of negative connotations behind them and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the style. The outfit’s just really cute and how I’ve seen it mostly worn via street style and online. But about the outfit. I wanted to keep …
