St. Patrick’s Day Outfit + Makeup Inspiration

*Giveaway at Bottom of Post March 17 is the day of the death of St. Patrick the patron saint of Ireland. Of course in for hundreds of years this day has been marked with a feast, but now, especially in the United States it’s better known as St. Party’s Day, and since this year March 17 falls on a Friday this is even more true. In celebration of the upcoming day, I wanted to share a little bit of outfit inspiration. While the day is about having a good time, I did keep it pretty conservative, as well as being super comfortable. Dress- Okay I really wanted the main piece of this outfit to be green, but while searching I couldn’t believe how hard it was to find a dress. Almost every green dress seemed to either be extremely ill fitting, or a bridesmaid dress until I came upon this piece. It’s a simple shift dress with a cute key hole back. Clutch – Although it isn’t technically related whenever I think of St. Patrick’s …

Last week was crazy, between schoolwork, quizzes and a test I was pretty much away from all forms of social media. Since spring break is officially starting Monday (although I don’t have Friday classes so I get to a little early), I’m hoping that in addition to relaxing a little I can get caught up. …

Casual Vintage Nautical Outfit Inspiration

I know I’ve said this before but the weather has been so weird! Yesterday was t-shirt, and shorts kind of weather and this morning there was some snow on the ground. So while this outfit isn’t currently weather appropriate I thought I should just go ahead and share the inspiration anyways. For this look I wanted to combine the nautical style that’s always in for summer with a more vintage feel to keep the outfit from being cookie cutter. Of course it’s still modest and feminine! Top – The main piece of this outfit is the gorgeous long sleeve shirt. It has small sailor stripes Pants – I’m obsessed with high waisted denim so of course that’s what I paired this shirt with. The medium wash and light destroy on this pair make it perfect for keeping the outfit casual. I’ve also been really into cuffed trousers so I picked denim that had that. Sunglasses – Round sunglasses look great with vintage outfits so I had to add a pair to this look. I went …

Outfit: A Tassel Scarf with Denim

Today’s outfit of the day which you might have already seen on my Instagram if you follow me there. The weather has been so strange this winter, jumping from warm and sunny to below freezing and snowing without any warning in between. Of course I’m loving the warm days, and full of complaints when the cooler weather is around. Luckily today was one of those warmer days, unlike yesterday which was a pretty cold Valentine’s Day. Jacket – This is just a basic denim jacket, that’s sort of a staple in my wardrobe. I normally wear it with yoga pants and a tank top, for one of those lazy class days. Today I paired it with a simple black racerback tank. Jeans – Black denim is one of those things that I love. This pair is from Abercrombie and has a higher waist which I’m always a fan of. Shoes – Although it was a little warm to be wearing lined boots, I had to do it because winter is about the only time I …

Off Shoulder Brown/Black Winter Outfit Inspiration

This semester has been so tough, I’m only a month in and I feel five months behind. Which is exactly why I’ve been a little absent over here. I don’t want to completely take a break though, and so I thought today would be a good day to share an outfit photo. While mixing brown and black isn’t traditional I think it works extremely well in this look, making it a great “model off duty” inspiration outfit for the winter. Shirt – Off the shoulder tops are so in right now, that I had to make a look with one. I’m particularly loving this one because the cropped square shape and tighter fit. The long sleeve is a little less common Pants – Black skinny legs are still 100% in for the coveted “off duty” look which is great because they’re so flattering. To up that I like to go with a high waisted, non destroyed wash that keeps it chic. Coat – The main brown piece is this woolen coat. It hits at the …

Outfit: Oversized Cardigan + Black Denim

School’s back in session and while I wouldn’t say I’m hating it, but I’m not that enthusiastic. Switching over to getting up early and having a few late night classes and all the class work is a lot. Plus if you know me, you know that I over schedule myself, which of course isn’t helping. Hopefully after a few weeks I’ll get the schedule down and be able to manage everything a little better, but for now it’s quite hectic. So in this transition week, I’ve kept up with the casual dressing I did over winter break and wanted to share with you guys a cardigan from StyleWe I’m absolutely loving. Cardigan – Lets start with my favorite piece of this outfit, this cardigan that was given to me by the people at StyleWe. The army green color is flattering and the longer length makes it perfect to wear with any of my outfits. I’m especially loving the fitted sleeves. You can get one yourself HERE Tank Top –  Underneath the cardigan I went with a …

Casual Winter Outfit (+Makeup) Inspiration

Until recently this winter has been extremely mild. I’m talking windbreakers and knit boots being all you need for a cold morning, and afternoons with just a sweater, which was amazing. The past few days however that’s all changed. The weather has been freezing and, we’ve had snow! I wanted to put together a cozy winter outfit as a fun January inspiration. Sweater – Probably my favorite thing about winter wear is getting to wear all of my thick sweaters in comfort. Putting together this outfit I couldn’t help but add in this gorgeous sweater. Because of it’s full sized flower that crosses over into the sleeves, it’s super unique. Jeans – To go with loose tops, like this sweater I love pairing a more fitted pair of trousers. These jeans are perfect because the high waist and skinny leg cut. Plus the medium wash matches well with the sweater. Scarf – Pairing a winter outfit with a scarf makes the look that much better. While I’d normally go with a knit version, this fleece …

A Big Coat at the Courthouse

While at an outlet mall I love to frequent I came across an amazing sale. I originally went thinking I might find a few good Christmas presents, but ended up with a haul of designer items for myself, and a few things for my friends. I’d been at the mall for a little over an hour with no luck, seeing mostly just the typical “made for outlet” lower quality items, I came across the DKNY store. Unlike the other stores they didn’t have any Christmas promotional signs up, but from outside you could tell there was something going on. Inside I found out it was a store closing which meant that in addition to the pieces being marked off the regular 30%-50% they were another 90% off on top of that, which was almost too good to believe. I ended up spending over an hour trying on different pieces and  took home almost all of them. One of which was the coat I’m wearing as well as the shirt underneath it. For these photos (which …

Outfit: Basic Winter Break Look

Now that most of the holiday stuff is over (still have New Years celebrations to go) I can finally say I’m happy to be on winter break. With all the updates to my blog (I’ll talk more about switching from Hanna Marie Lei to Like Hanna in a future blog post) family visiting, as well as a few upcoming projects I haven’t had much time to relax or do fun things. However for my last little while of break I’ll be able to now that I’ve marked a few things off my list. To sort of go with my limited laid back time I wanted to share my basic winter break outfit and a cool new necklace I was given. Of course since it is my time off all of these photos are the natural, no makeup kind. Necklace – I want to start out with my favorite piece from the outfit, this Druzy necklace that the company gave me! From there site you can pick from three different colors, black, pink or blue …

A Cape and a Cat

While my grades aren’t in yet I’m officially done with the semester. I’m not too worried about them, because the grade book gives me a pretty good idea of what I’ll get (you can fill in if you get x grade on the final what your finished grade will be) but I’d still like them to be on the official transcript. Even without that done, I’m feeling significantly less stressed and have a bit more time, which of course meant I had to go out and take outfit photos. While it’s pretty cold where I am, the temperature  wasn’t too bad at my grandparents where I took these photos although there was a lot of rain. Cape – Whenever I look at vintage photos, I’m always interested to see what they’re wearing. One of my favorites, of outwear are the capes, so when I was given the chance to pick something out from eShakti.com I had to go with this piece. I love the double breasted style and the pocket to keep my hands warm. …
